Bigfoot Youth is proud to be part of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme. The scheme, funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation, is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people as well as receive additional funding.
We have three opportunities to recognise and award one of our young youth section riders each year. Our youth section members have the opportunity each time to vote for one of their peers, who can only receive the award once. These ‘Young Achievers’ will have shown qualities demonstrating high aspirations, determination, self sufficiency, positivity and community spirit.
As well as a framed certificate to commemorate their achievement, the winner receives funds to be spent on a something of their choice that will benefit the Bigfoot Youth CC youth section. For example, this could be a piece of equipment, a cycling activity for the youth section club members, a specialist trainer to come in to give a session, or most commonly a fun social activity (eg jump giant, laser quest, pizza night, go-karting etc).
Each year our youth section riders can also vote for one of our adult volunteers to be awarded, with the award funding again for the benefit of the youth section - through this funding resources such as the mound features and bike rollers have been funded
We announce each term's / year's winners in club newsletters. If you would like more information please contact us.
