Planning for a fresh start in September

You may be aware that British Cycling last week published "The Way Forward" - the next step in its plan to resume all sanctioned cycling activities in England.

British Cycling has given permission for coaching and group activity to start again, provided certain conditions are met. For our club this would mean:
  • coaching in groups no larger than five riders to each coach (six people in total)
  • maintaining complete separation between each group of six for the entire session
  • no close riding, or contact
  • parents remaining on site to deal with bike problems, administer first aid and ensure segregation of personal property
  • the club would need to provide hand sanitiser and masks for each volunteer
  • we would not be able to lend bikes and equipment
The club Directors have carefully considered whether we can meet these conditions with the resources we have available. Given that there are now just two weekends of coaching sessions before the end of term we have decided that we will not start coaching sessions again until September. This of course will be subject to us being confident that we can deliver sessions safely and effectively.

To compensate you for the cancelled Spring term sessions that had been paid for in January, the Autumn 2020 term will be free of charge to all members. More information will be sent out nearer the time.

We know that this will be disappointing news for many of you, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members and parents for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
