Extraordinary General Meeting update

posted 6 Sept 2018, 09:26 by Bigfoot Go-Ride   [ updated 6 Sept 2018, 09:26 ]
On 18 August, the club held an EGM to decide whether to move the club's activities from being run by an 'unincorporated' organisation to an 'incorporated' Company Limited by Guarantee. The reason for the proposal was to enable to club itself (rather than individual committee members) to enter into contracts and hold assets on behalf of the club. Full details about the EGM and the proposal are on the website here.
The EGM agreed to the proposal unanimously, and we have now set up a new company, called 'Bigfoot Youth Cycle Club Ltd' and we will now begin the process of formally moving the club, and its contracts and assets to the new company.
How does it affect you? And what do you need to do?

There is no need for anyone participating in the club to do anything, the transition will happen automatically.
  • The club will continue to be run by volunteers and be non-profit making.
  • The fees recently set will stay the same.
  • The venues we are using will stay the same, as will the dates and times of all sessions.
  • You'll still see the same familiar faces among the coaches, welfare officers and other volunteers.
  • Our plan for non-coaching activities remains the same (rides, outings and races)
We'll keep you updated with progress over the coming months.
