We're running a Youth branch mountain bike ride around Hanging Wood and Bletchingley Quarry on Saturday 3 April.
We'll start at Woldingham train station and head out through Woldingham School. We'll cross over the A22 footbridge into the woods, and then down to the Quarry and back. The route can take up to one and a half hours.
The trail has some very steep sections of descending and climbing and isn't suitable for very young riders or those with little or no MTB experience. Please bear that in mind when booking your child on this ride.
For this first MTB ride of the year we're restricting the number to riders to six Youth riders. There will be two adults (a Level 2 coach and an assistant).
To book a place, visit the British Cycling website as you would when booking a coaching session. Book your place here: http://tiny.cc/bigfootyouthregistration
Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, and you must be a club member with up-to-date British Cycling membership to book a place.
If you have not booked please do not turn up on the day as unfortunately you will not be allowed to take part.
Ride detailsMeet at 8.30am for a 9.00am start at Woldingham train station. There is ample free parking along Church Road.
Remember that we need to be vigilant when riding off road, and be considerate to other trail users such as dog walkers, fellow MTB riders and horse riders.
Riders should ensure that their bike is in good working order and carry with them spare tubes, a pump, a bidon with their favourite drink and a snack for when we finish.
Please make sure you have read and understood the club's Covid 19 guidelines for external rides which you can download below.
Should you need any more information regarding this ride, please contact Marcel Rizza (Youth branch Level 2 Coach) at: coachcyclingonline@gmail.com
