Bigfoot Youth - now twice a week!

posted 4 Sept 2017, 01:21 by Bigfoot Go-Ride   [ updated 8 Sept 2017, 05:43 ]
Bigfoot Youth starts the new term tonight, and this year we are offering two sessions each week - at Croydon Arena on Monday evenings and at Bromley College on Thursday evenings. As this is is a new arrangement, we thought it would be useful to explain the differences between the two sessions:

MONDAYS at Croydon Arena are TRAINING sessions which are more physically demanding and aimed riders who participate in cycling as a sport (be that racing, time trials, sportives or triathlons), and those riders interesting in taking on our more challenging rides taking place in 2018. These sessions will also be open to selected younger riders from the junior branches of the club who are eager for extra training (on an invitation-only basis).

THURSDAYS at Bromley College are CLUB sessions which are aimed all types of riders. They are more like our usual Go-Ride sessions but with more of a skills and social focus. These sessions are open to Youth riders only and not younger riders from the junior branches of the club.

Youth section riders are welcome to come along to either or both of these sessions every week but should be aware of the session focus and demands before attending. Younger riders (from the junior branches) must be approved by the Youth coach leaders before being allowed to join the Monday sessions.

There is possibility that from time to time our Monday sessions may be cancelled at short notice. This is due to priority given to the football club based at Croydon Arena. Please keep an eye on the club Twitter, email newsletters, text alerts and calendar to make sure the session is going ahead before you travel.

Parking at Croydon Arena

We have been informed by site managers at Croydon Arena that new parking restrictions have come into force. Please read and comply with the notices that have been erected on the the site. If you park on a double yellow line or in a disabled bay (without a blue badge) you may well receive a penalty charge notice.
